Always Low Prices? Now There's a Walmart iPad App for That
2:10PM 11/09/2011

Bargain hunting just got a little easier for Walmart customers who are also Apple customers. The world's largest retailer has launched a new app for the iPad and updated its app for the iPhone to keep in step with its shoppers' growing use of the popular Apple products.
The retail giant will allow customers to snap up a flick while loading their electronic shopping carts with everything from clothes to tires. The move completes Walmart.com's integration of VUDU, and brings the world's largest public corporation by revenue into direct conflict with Netflix.

Blockbuster did just get another extension to file -- it was supposed to do so in...
Walmart giving Groupon a run for its money
4:30PM 10/28/2010
No one ever said success had to be born from an original idea. Sometimes, imitation works just fine. Whether that turns out to be true for Walmart, which has launched a deal of the day program similar to Groupon, only time will tell. Called CrowdSaver, the first deal launched this week on the...

Remember the days you'd get in your car and drive to your local Blockbuster, wander around the aisles looking for just the right movie, stand in line to pay, then hustle back to the store a few days later to avoid the late fee?
Those days are gone, and with them might go Blockbuster.
Blockbuster...

1:30PM 2/23/2010
This week Walmart made news by purchasing VUDU, a video on demand service that allows users to rent and purchase more than 16,000 movies through an Internet connected Blu-Ray player or Web enabled HDTV.
The purchase is a win for Walmart, which needs to compensate for falling DVD sales, but an...
If you prefer downloading movies onto your computer or television, thus avoiding driving to Blockbuster and standing in line next to the tempting snack rack, you may soon have another company to pick movies from.
Big-box retail giant Wal-Mart is buying VUDU, an online movie on-demand service, to...

Retail giant Wal-Mart is wading into the digital content melee by snapping up web-video startup Vudu for a reported $100 million or more. It's the latest evidence that the still-nascent market for on-demand video is starting to heat up.
