A court-appointed trustee is suing JPMorgan Chase for its alleged involvement in Bernard Madoff's multibillion-dollar Ponzi scheme. The investment bank was Madoff's primary bank for 20 years. JPMorgan said it didn't know about -- much less assist -- Madoff's fraud.

Goldman Sachs (GS) poached a top banker from the London office of Swiss bank UBS (UBS), The Financial Times reported.

UBS (UBS) shares jumped over 7% in early morning trading after the Swiss bank said it swung to a second-quarter net profit of 2.01 billion Swiss francs ($1.91 billion). Strong equity and forex trading, as well as a continued slowdown in withdrawals in its wealth management arm contributed to the results and showed the bank continues to recover under the helm of CEO Oswald Gruebel.

German prosecutors raided all 13 Credit Suisse branches in the country on Wednesday as part of a probe into tax fraud. Earlier this year, German authorities acquired information on some 1,500 Credit Suisse customers who may have been using the Swiss accounts to avoid paying taxes.
