Two Pennsylvania cases have exposed new types of document problems in foreclosure cases, and one of the cases has potentially huge consequences for troubled homeowners all over the state. At the center of each case is the same law firm: Goldbeck McCafferty & McKeever.

After dismissing a request for a delay from Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., a House of Representatives ethics committee panel on Monday began a hearing on whether Rangel committed financial and fundraising misconduct. Deliberations will continue Tuesday.

Tribune Co. creditors are suing for billions of dollars in damages, alleging Tribune Chairman Sam Zell and lender JPMorgan Chase pushed the company into bankruptcy when Zell purchased it mainly with debt in 2007.

Citigroup is on the hook for $11.5 million in damages after losing an arbitration case against actor Larry Hagman, best known for his role as J.R. Ewing in the television series "Dallas," who had accused the bank of fraud and misconduct.
