General Motors is shutting down Hummer after its bid to sell the military-style SUV brand to a Chinese company collapsed. Heavy-equipment maker Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machines pulled out because it was unable to get clearance from Chinese regulators within the proposed deal timeframe.

GM finalizes its sale of Sweden's Saab to Dutch luxury carmaker Spyker. But GM's planned sale of its Hummer division to China's Tengzhong may be running out of time.
