Honda Warns U.S. Dealers of Civic Shortage

Japanese automaker Honda warned U.S. dealers that it will run short of popular models such as the Civic compact later this summer because of parts shortages caused by Japan's earthquake. The company said it would significantly cut production of the new 2012 Civic, the sixth most popular car in the U.S.

Honda to Recall 1.35 Million Fit Cars

Honda Motor Co (HMC) is recalling 1.35 million Fit subcompact cars to repair defective wiring in the headlights. The carmaker said it would recall 143,000 cars in the United States and 734,000 cars in Japan, according to The Associated Press.

Honda Motor may be the subject of a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation because of possible acceleration problems with its Honda Accord Hybrid that may have caused a 2005 crash that killed one person.

Honda to Expand Recall for Air-Bag Inflation Problems

Honda Motor Co. says it will expand an existing recall. Last month Honda recalled 646,000 Fit hatchbacks worldwide because of a glitch that could cause water to enter the power window mechanism, causing components to overheat.
