Homebuilder Lennar Posts Surprise First-Quarter Profit
The Miami-based homebuilder posted a surprise fiscal first-quarter profit as it controlled costs and hedged against housing woes by purchasing troubled loans and properties from banks.
KB Home Earnings Fall by $30.7 Million
KB Home, one of the country's top homebuilders, posted a second-quarter net loss of $30.7 million, or 40 cents a diluted share, as revenues fell. In the second quarter of last year, the company posted a net loss of $78.4 million, or $1.03 a diluted share.
