gm recalls vehicles for seat belt issues

Automakers recalled more vehicles last year than in any of the last six years. And while Toyota Motors accounted for much of the growth, with problems including unintended acceleration and glitchy brakes, many other car manufacturers also saw their recalls increase.

General Motors is recalling 243,403 vehicles because of a potential safety problem where safety belts could appear to be properly latched when they are not. The recall affects 2009-2010 models of the Chevrolet Traverse, Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook, GM said today in a statement....
