    Multiple explosions at a Texas natural-gas plant operated by Enterprise Products Partners caused a fire that can be seen from dozens of miles away, local TV station KHOU-TV reported Tuesday. The plant is in Mont Belvieu, about 35 miles east of Houston. No injury reports have been released.

    Pacific Gas & Electric Co. found 38 leaks in its more than 6,700 miles of natural-gas transmission lines. The company said its 16 miles of lines in the San Bruno, Calif., area, where a September explosion killed eight people, were satisfactory.

    An explosion and fireball rocked San Bruno, Calif., destroying 53 homes and killing at least one person. The explosion apparently came from a high-pressure gas line. Fire shot hundreds of feet into the air at 6.15 pm local time Thursday, KTVU reported. More than 20 people were taken to hospital...

    BP said Friday that the Deepwater Horizon rig's blowout preventer, which failed to prevent oil from the Macondo well from flowing into the Gulf of Mexico, has been removed from atop the well.

    Mitsui Offshore Exploration and Anadarko Petroleum, BP's partners in the Deepwater Horizon well, now refuse to share in the liability for the Gulf oil spill, saying BP's gross negligence frees them from liability. But before the issue goes to arbitration, they're going to try to talk it out.

    The House of Representatives has passed the "SPILL Act," which -- if also passed by the Senate -- will allow families of men killed in the Deepwater Horizon accident to sue BP for normal damages. Under current maritime law, BP might get away with payments as low as $1,000 per death.
