AT&T Stores to Sell Kindle E-Readers

AT&T says its retail stores will start selling Amazon.com's Kindle electronic book readers Sunday. The e-readers will cost $189, the same price as they currently sell for on Amazon.com, and buyers won't have to sign up for AT&T data plans to get the popular gadget.

Boeing to Submit Defense Contract Bid as EADS Tensions Rise

Boeing is expected to submit a bid for a $35 billion Air Force tanker contract today, as tensions build over subsidies to its rival, the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company.

Boeing plans to accelerate its production of 777 and 747 jets after the International Air Transport Association reports increased air travel. Meanwhile, the company may face competition for a Defense Department contract.

The Air Force, still in need of airborne refueling craft, plans to buy 179 of these so-called tankers starting in fiscal 2011. The $35 billion contract for turning out about 15 planes a year may be awarded by June 2010, according to Bloomberg News.
