BMW%u2019s 5 Series and Hyundai%u2019s Sonata received the highest scores for passenger cars and trucks under a new U.S. crash safety rating system.
The two vehicles were the only ones to receive the top safety score of five stars in crash-safety tests, Bloomberg News reported. Both vehicles scored four stars in frontal crashes and five stars in side-crashes and rollovers.
A trio of Ford Motor midsized sedans are among 2010 vehicles that topped the list of an insurance industry crash-testing organization's tests for safety. Hyundai, VW and Audi models also made the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's top grade.
