    The recall of half a billion eggs potentially tainted by salmonella has scared shoppers, who are increasingly willing to pay higher prices for safer eggs. Organic and premium egg producers are now struggling to keep up with demand.

    Will the Wright County Egg recall leave the whole industry with egg on its face? Even though only one egg producer has been linked to the salmonella cases, the recall might end up turning consumers off eggs, if the spinach and beef recalls are any indication.
