    Texas Republican Rep. Joe Barton said during today's hearing he was "ashamed" that BP had been the victim of a "shakedown" after the company agreed to set aside $20 billion for claims resulting from the spill. He then issued a retraction.

    The grilling of BP's CEO before a House committee on Thursday is sure to be "very unpleasant," says Michigan's John Dingell. Hayward will express empathy for the victims, but no amount of "I feel your pain" rhetoric can shield him from lawmakers' wrath.
