In this economy, many Americans feel grateful to have jobs in the first place. The nation's high unemployment rate makes recent video of some of Chrysler's unionized workers drinking and smoking pot on the job all the more galling. It's time for unions to stop protecting slacker employees.

Starting with the new Chrysler models owners will find something missing in their glovebox -- a hard copy owner's manual. In an effort to trim costs, save 20,000 trees a year and be more consumer friendly, Chrysler will put the owner's manuals on DVD instead of printing them. The good news is...

What's Chrysler Group L.L.C. going to do now that it's wiped out a $7-billion-plus government loan through what may be the fastest bankruptcy ever? Mexico sounds nice. The No. 3 (at least for now) U.S. automaker may build the Fiat 500 subcompact in Mexico, the Wall Street Journal reports....

Should General Motors Co. (GM) change its name since, if it survives at all, it will be a shadow of its former self? It looks like all my hand-wringing about Chrysler taking years to get out of bankruptcy was wrong. But what I didn't know then was that the bankruptcy judge was going to reject the arguments of the 40 hedge funds who controlled a mere 30 percent of the $6.9 billion in secured creditors. We now know...

A year ago, the wife and I decided it was time for our expanding family to trade a mid-size SUV for the spacious expanses of a minivan. After doing quite a bit of research, we finally found the right price on the right vehicle, a 2009 Town and Country from Chrysler (insert sad trombone sound here)....

Chrysler L.L.C. can no longer keep its creditors at bay. According to The New York Times, the inevitable bankruptcy of the number three U.S. automaker will come as soon as next week. The Treasury Department has an agreement in principal with the United Auto Workers, and an agreement with Italy's...

Hoping to convince members of the United Auto Workers to approve yet more concessions, Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) slashed pay of top executives by 30 percent over the next two years. Bonuses for salaried workers also have been suspended. The "we are in this together" gesture rings hollow to me....
