Coca-Cola May Boost Investment in China

Coca-Cola Company (KO) may increase its spending in China, according to CEO Muhtar Kent. Coke, the world%u2019s largest beverage company, will likely spend "a little more" than the $2 billion it had planned for China from 2009 to 2011, Kent told Bloomberg News.

Coca-Cola Earnings Rise to 88 Cents Per Share

The Coca-Cola Company (KO) reported earnings of 88 cents per share for the third quarter, up 9% from a year earlier. Net revenue rose 5% to $8.4 billion in the quarter, boosted by a strong performance in the North American market, the company said in a statement. International volume also rose 6% in the quarter.

PepsiCo Second Quarter EPS Slide 7% to $0.98

PepsiCo%u2019s (PEP) said second-quarter reported earnings per share fell 7% from a year earlier to 98 cents. Reported net income declined 3%. The company repurchased $2.6 billion of common stock in the second quarter, the company said in a statement. It also spent $739 million on dividends.
