Apple Inc (AAPL) unveiled a new Mac Pro line with as many as 12 processing cores and up to 50% greater performance than the previous generations. The computers will feature ATI graphics and the option for as many as four 512GB solid state drives.
"The new Mac Pro is the most powerful and configurable Mac we've ever made," Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide product marketing, said in a statement.
The computers will feature quad-core and 6-core Intel Xeon processors running at speed as great as 3.33 GHz.
The new quad-core Mac Pro will have a suggested retail price of $2,499. The new 8-core Mac Pro will have a suggested retail price of $3,499.
