On Thursday, Warren Buffett joined Twitter with a missive sure to land in the pantheon of pioneering communications, alongside Samuel Morse's "What hath God wrought?" and Brian Kernighan's "hello, world":
Buffett is known to be something of a Luddite personally, having claimed he missed the details of a potential deal to rescue Lehman Brothers because he didn't know how to check his voicemail. And he is said to have resisted for years an offer of a desktop computer from his pal Bill Gates, so it seems doubtful he'll be a heavy user of Twitter.

Still, Buffett's got $53.5 billion in assets, according to Forbes, and once played ping-pong with a comically oversized paddle. He can make things happen, in other words, and he's down to have some fun. So it might be worth your while, if #socialmedia's your thing, to try to interact with the Oracle of Omaha on Twitter dot com.

Sorry, I don't have a Facebook or Twitter account, I'll just greet Warren Buffett right here on AOL. Best Wishes, Bruce Brennan of Boring, Oregon. Former Deaf Life Sept.1990 cover-page Deaf Pilot, 'Deaf Pilot Takes Off." I flew 4 seater Cessna 172's and Piper warrior for 9 years. At that time gas was $1 a gallon. Had to quit in 1996 due to going broke. Found a girlfriend after quitting flying, still with her for 17 years. Have a long and happy life, Mr. Buffett.
