April has never been a good time to release new gadgets, mainly because it lacks a holiday shopping hook. But the last couple of days have been surprisingly good for gadget junkies as Microsoft, Nokia and Apple all announced new products. What's going on here?

Paging Apple's legal department. Sprint announced the first WiMax smart phone Tuesday, the HTC Evo 4G, which runs on Google's Android platform. It's the first phone designed to run on Clearwire's 4G WiMax network. It's also a clear challenge to Apple, which recently sued HTC over Android.
