LG Electronics named founding family member Koo Bon-joon as CEO Friday, replacing Nam Yong, who resigned over the company's poor recent performance. The No. 3 mobile handset marker has struggled to find its footing in the rapidly evolving smartphone sector.
LG Electronics plans to deliver a hard-working tablet computer later this year, one focused on offering content creation capabilities, which the company contrasts with the Apple iPad's approach of concentrating on sharp content display.
Nearly 100,000 dehumidifiers are being recalled after reports of 11 incidents of property damage, including four building fires, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.
