8:00AM 9/25/2011

New York Fashion Week is over, but the work is just getting started at the nation's big chain retailers. DailyFinance asked fashion and trend directors at Macy's, J.C. Penney and Banana Republic what we'll be seeing this spring.

The jcp design groupe is bringing legitimate fashion cred to the retailer, with trendy looks that rival higher-end chains. Follow their new camel cape from conception to consumer with us and you'll get the message they're sending: This is not your mother's J.C. Penney.

On Thursday night, New York City will transform into one big after-hours shopping party for Fashion's Night Out, a whirlwind of festive, quirky store events to kick off New York Fashion Week. While such a collection wouldn't be grounded in pure fashion talent -- like the RACHEL Rachel Roy exclusive Macy's line -- it...
Nails lose their shine for $10 or less
12:30PM 2/16/2010
Fall 2010 is many months away -- a good thing, since it will take you that long to save up for some of the fashions marching down the runway right now at Fashion Week.
But there is one captivating catwalk trend you can wear -- and afford -- right now. Models' manicures have lost their luster -- in...
Fashion Week kicks off in New York City today, and as designers send their looks down the runway this weekend, HBO will have a launch of its own: "How to Make It in America," a new comedy series about young friends trying to make it in the fashion industry. The show premieres at 10 p.m. on...
Designers like Tommy Hilfiger and Oscar de la Renta depend on big celebrity names to sit in the front row of their shows during Fashion Week, which kicks off Feb. 11 in New York City. The A-listers typically wear the designer's latest frocks and parade around looking classy, helping to create buzz...
eBay goes high-class with Narciso Rodriguez collab
11:00AM 9/16/2009
There's little surprising news out of the high-low fashion collaboration trend these days. H&M pacts with a fierceness icon and splashes them across a billboard; Gap gets up-and-comers to sketch khakis and white shirts. Target stocks designer collections as regularly as it does dorm...
