After a recall of 40 products earlier this year, Johnson & Johnson's McNeil Consumer Healthcare division now reports that its over-the-counter pain reliever, Tylenol and other medications involved in the recall, are in short supply and will continue to be limited until 2011. The shortage is due to the closure of an important plant in Fort Washington, PA, which has experienced several manufacturing problems.

The company said it does not know when operations will resume at the plant, which was shut down in May.

The Food and Drug Administration is investigating Johnson & Johnson's faulty products, and has yet to find any health complications resulting from the recalled medications, which include several children's and adult over-the-counter medications, such as Tylenol, Benadryl, and Motrin.

The company's sales force has removed 264,000 Tylenol bottles from stores, and customers were able to exchange recalled products for safer ones.
