Lowe's recalled 663,000 Perfect Flame SLG Series gas grills after nearly two dozen people reported injuries due to deteriorating burners, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said. In some cases, the lids caught on fire.

Using these Chinese-made grills, imported by L G Sourcing, could put consumers at risk of being burned and should not be used until they are repaired, the CPSC said.
The home improvement store told the CPSC it has received about 40 reports of fires from deteriorating burners and 23 reports of lids catching fire. The company said 22 people were injured, most suffering burns to the hands, arms or face.

The grills are stainless steel and are painted black or gray. All the recalled grills will need new burners; some will need new lids. Those who have the grills are urged to order the replacement parts.

The grills were sold from September 2005 through May 2009 for $200 to $550.
