Make a fire truck with your child Sept. 26 at Lowe's, and make a firehouse bank with them on Oct. 3 at Home Depot -- all for free as part of each store's kids workshops.Lowe's is also having a free clinic to build a ball toss with your child on Oct. 10. Lowe's clinics are from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. You must register online to attend the Lowe's clinic.
The free how-to kids workshops at Home Depot are for children ages 5 to 12. They're from 9 a.m. to noon on the first Saturday of the month.
In addition to the new project kit, each child at the Home Depot event gets a kid's-sized orange apron and an achievement pin. A tile trivet will be built at the Nov. 7 workshop.
