Madoff worries about being homeless

Poor Bernard Madoff; he doesn't want to lose his $7 million dollar penthouse in Manhattan or an additional $62 million in assets. He claims that neither are related to the fraud that authorities say cost victims more than $50 billion. Madoff and his lawyer claim that these assets belong to his wife and are off limits. Well, there are a lot of people out there who disagree.

Nice try Madoff. I highly doubt that all those assets were earned by your wife alone. Chances are much higher that you are moving money and things to other accounts to hide assets so they can't be seized. At least that is what the feds think.

The whole thing really shouldn't come as a surprise. Madoff has had a lifetime of not playing by the rules and, at least financially, has been very successful. I have known a lot of people like this. They think the rules just don't apply to them. When they are caught, they try to project that THEY are the victims. Everybody is mistreating them. Like the mother of Caylee Anthony Case, charged with murdering her daughter. She tearfully complained that no one was looking at her side of things. What side?

I, for one, like it when people have to take responsibility for what they have done. And really Madoff shouldn't worry about being homeless. He is facing more than 100 years in jail.
