Boeing unit gets $59M Army training contract

SAN DIEGO -Boeing Co. said on Tuesday that its Tapestry Solutions unit received a $59 million contract to run training exercises for the U.S. Army in Europe.

The five-year contract calls for Tapestry Solutions to design, plan, and run exercises including Army unit-level activities as well as large-scale events with forces from a number of countries.

San Diego-based Tapestry develops software, training, and provides consulting and support services to the U.S. military and to governments.

Shares of Chicago-based Boeing rose $1.69, or 2.7 percent, to close at $63.47.
