The Department of Defense awarded 14 defense contracts in its Thursday evening announcement of contract awards, with a total value of $731.2 million. Among the publicly traded companies winning contracts:
- KBR was awarded a $56.6 million contract modification exercising option year one on a support-services contract to run public safety (security operations, emergency management, and fire/emergency services), ordnance, supply, laundry, food services, housing, facility support, and other operations at the U.S. Navy's base at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, through June 2015.
- Hologic won a contract to supply the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps with up to $32 million worth of ThinPrep pap test kits and related supplies through Sept. 30, 2019.
- URS Corporation was awarded a $10.8 million task order to perform recapitalization on a seawater reverse osmosis treatment plant at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay. URS will replace four of the six existing reverse osmosis process units at the Windward Desalination Plant, the primary water source for Naval Station Guantanamo Bay. This work should be completed by July 2016.
- Airborne Systems North America of California, which, according to S&P Capital IQ, is a subsidiary of TransDigm Group , won an $8.1 million foreign military sales contract to supply 37 T-11 personnel parachute systems, eight T-11 spare parts packages, 825 MC-6 personnel parachute systems, and eight MC-6 spare-parts packages to customers in India, Jordan, Moldova, and Romania. Multiple orders are expected to be placed and delivered through June 16, 2016.
