Back in 2006 my wife had applied for a job at the Sheriff's dept.and she was interviewed about her finances. LIke how much do you owe on your home, car payments, credit card debt, etc. She told the person she has no debt whatsoever and he could not believe it. He says you mean, you have no debt at all. Nope. First time he had come across that. It is great to be debt free. Just to not live above your means and of course save and invest like we have since 1980.
