Consumer packaging specialist Sonoco Products announced today its fourth-quarter dividend of $0.31 per share, the same rate it's paid for the past two quarters after raising the payout 3% from $0.30 per share.

The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on Dec. 10 to the holders of record at the close of business on Nov. 15. The company has made quarterly payouts to investors since 1925. It has paid dividends to investors for 354 consecutive quarters.

The regular dividend payment equates to a $1.24-per-share annual dividend, yielding 3.2% based on the closing price today of Sonoco Products' stock.
