OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- A.M. Best Co. has withdrawn the financial strength rating of A (Excellent) and issuer credit rating of "a" of First Trenton Indemnity Company (First Trenton) (Parsippany, NJ)following its merger into an affiliate company, TheTravelers Indemnity Company (Hartford, CT), a subsidiary of The Travelers Companies, Inc. (TRV) (headquartered in New York, NY) (NYS: TRV) on October 1, 2013. The ratings of TRV and its property/casualty subsidiaries are unaffected by this transaction.
