Security Bank of California Partners with Venture Capital Firm
RIVERSIDE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The parent company of Security Bank of California, Security California Bancorp, has entered a partnership with Grayhawk Capital to make venture capital available to local high-technology entrepreneurs.
"Our involvement with Grayhawk's Venture Fund II makes us the first Inland Southern California bank to offer our region's high technology startups access to this kind of investment," said James A. Robinson, chairman and CEO. "It is part of our strategy to support high-technology economic development and job creation in the Inland Empire," he said. "These technology startups provide high-paying white collar jobs."
"We are delighted to have Security California Bancorp as a limited partner in our newest fund," said Brian Burns, a partner and co-founder of Grayhawk Capital. "We at Grayhawk consider this area to be under-served by venture capital. We have several limited partners based in the region and they would be very pleased to see our investments support high-tech jobs here," Brian said.
Riverside Mayor Rusty Bailey noted that "venture capital can be the difference between one person having a great idea and another person having a great business. Security Bank of California is helping to provide the capital that will make that difference happen in Riverside. This certainly will help the city's efforts to develop more well-paying, high-technology jobs."
Phoenix-based Grayhawk Capital is a registered Small Business Investment Corp. which enables it to leverage private investment with federal money to make more capital available to small businesses. Grayhawk focuses on early and growth-stage technology companies in the southwest United States with capital-efficient business models and large potential markets.
