Netflix is continuing its attempts to make its service more personalized and convenient. Today, the company will roll out its My List feature for users in the U.S., it announced in an official blog post from Director of Production Innovation Michael Spiegelman. My List is a row of film and TV titles initially located at the top of the service's interface. While browsing the company's offerings throughout the site, users can add to the row by clicking a button located on the chosen title's information pop-up.
The new feature is an evolution from the traditional Instant Queue, which has long been a staple of the company's U.S. service. In the blog post, Spiegelman wrote that, "We've found through talking to our customers that though many people found [Instant Queue] useful, we could still improve the experience." Instant Queue requires a customer to click on a separate page in order to view their saved titles.
Spiegelman wrote that My List will be available to Netflix members outside the U.S. within the next two weeks.
The rollout of the new service comes several weeks after the company introduced another personalized feature, Profiles. These allow for up to six members of a Netflix-subscribing household to build their own Instant Queues, have Recently Watched lists compiled, and receive individualized suggestions based on their viewing.
