For some time, Apple has been criticized for falling behind in the quest for innovation and leadership in the technology space. It's in this spirit that various design elements of iOS 7 have been called ugly and uninspired, but there are some reasons to be hopeful. While the refresh may only lay the groundwork for new innovation, it stands as a beacon of where Apple is trying to go, and that's good news for investors.
