Avnet Senior Vice President of Logistics Warehousing and Distribution Robert Brenner to highlight near-shoring strategies and best practices
PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Avnet, Inc. (NYSE:AVT), a leading global technology distributor, today announced that Robert Brenner, senior vice president of logistics warehousing and distribution, Avnet, Inc., will present at the Eye for Transport Chief Supply Chain Officer Forum and companion conference, the 11th Annual North American 3PL Summit. Brenner's presentation, "Returning to North America - Reshoring and Near Shoring," will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. CDT at the Radisson Blu Aqua in Chicago.
"As traditional outsourcing locations mature, companies will need to turn to other places and methods to continue to maintain their manufacturing advantages," said Brenner. "This shift requires a careful examination of every company's outsourced manufacturing strategy, especially the related logistics complexities and regulatory issues. During these conferences, we will discuss best practices to face these challenges by reshoring or near shoring manufacturing operations to decrease time to market, increase flexibility and strengthen integration with partners."
At Avnet, Brenner is responsible for all warehousing, assembly and computer integration in the Americas, as well as global quality operations. A 17-year veteran of the electronics industry, he previously served as Avnet's global vice president of quality, where he led the development of a comprehensive Latin America logistics infrastructure. He has extensive technical and customer relations expertise, and Brenner is well versed in operational excellence and six sigma process improvement methodology.
