6 Money Leaks That Are Draining Your Finances

By David Bakke

Drip. Drip. Drip.

Like a leaky faucet loses water, too many of us let money slip away in unseen fees, charges and general overpayments.

As long as finding and fixing each leak doesn't require more effort than it's worth, you're doing yourself a favor by breaking out the proverbial wrench. If you can find just six ways to save $10 every month, at the end of the year you've got an extra $720 in the bank.

Keeping that in mind, could you be leaking money in one of these ways? Read on to find out.

How about retired politicians and judges receiving either full salary or a very lucrative retirement income including health care - I've been told many of these benefits apply after being employed only one year. No wonder judges don't mind spending $50,000.00 or more out of pocket to campaign - small price to pay for a cushy lifetime retirement. And we the taxpayers foot the bill.

Foreign aid is a miniscule part of the federal budget, and a lot of it has strings attached that require it to be used to purchase US goods. Stop spreading misinformation. That Fox News's job.

You forgot corporate welfare. I guess they don't cover that on Fox News.
