Apple Scores Approval From the Pentagon

Apple may be the third major smartphone maker to receive approval from the U.S. Department of Defense for use in the Pentagon, but is in no way the least influential. While Cupertino may be playing catch-up in this single area to BlackBerry and Samsung -- the first smartphone maker to get approval for a Google Android device -- the company is well positioned on multiple levels. Now Nokia and the Microsoft Windows Phone operating system are the last major players not granted access.
