EPL Oil & Gas (NYS: EPL) reported earnings on May 2. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.91. The 11 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ forecast $0.84 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.91 for Q1 were 168% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.34 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.74 for Q1 were much higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.04 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 76.8%, 440 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 39.9%, much better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 15.9%, much better than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $172.4 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.93.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $695.2 million. The average EPS estimate is $3.78.
