BloomNet® Introduces iPad app for Essentials Floral Selection Guide

Interactive guide is industry's first of its kind

CARLE PLACE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- BloomNet, a leading floral industry business service provider and one-stop destination for innovative products and best-in-class services, has created the wire service industry's first floral selection guide available on the Apple iPad®.

The new BloomNet Expressions of FlowersTM - Essentials floral selection guide App for iPad is free for all BloomNet Professional Florists and it can create an array of opportunities to enhance the retail experience both for flower shop owners and their customers.

"Consumers today are increasingly utilizing their iPads to research products and make purchasing decisions," said Mark Nance, AAF, President of BloomNet. "Our new iPad App makes it fast and easy to browse our printed floral selection guide interactively, putting a vast collection of beautiful floral products literally in the palm of the hand."

Among the benefits of the new App is the ability for florists to showcase the latest floral arrangements and engage customers utilizing iPad's inherent portability and versatility. For instance, retail associates could use the iPad App to consult with customers throughout the store, showing customers a comprehensive range of floral designs on the iPad screen. Florists could also place iPads equipped with the app in several strategic locations in their store, such as near the registers, so customers could receive product information while they're waiting in line...helping to generate additional sales.

With BloomNet's new iPad App, the Expressions of FlowersTM - Essentials floral selection guide can be quickly searched by occasion, holiday, product name or price. Immediate updates for the App will be sent directly to florists' iPads, including the latest holiday and everyday designs.

"BloomNet is continually committed to providing BloomNet Professional Florists with state-of-the-art technology," continued Mr. Nance. "As more and more consumers embrace the possibilities of interactive shopping using hand-held digital devices, our new Essentials iPad App can be a very valuable tool to increase florists' sales potential."

To download the new BloomNet Essentials Floral Selection Guide App, BloomNet Florists can visit the iTunes App Store, search for "bloomnet-essentials", and enter their BloomNet Shop Code, user name and password.
