Connecticut Water Service Increases Sales but Misses Revenue Estimate

Connecticut Water Service (NAS: CTWS) reported earnings on March 18. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.17. The five earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.17 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.17 for Q4 were 19% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.21 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.18 for Q4 were 14% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.21 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 46.9%, 10 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 23.1%, 40 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 8.2%, 370 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $20.7 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.28.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $91.9 million. The average EPS estimate is $1.45.
