The Fool Looks Ahead

There's never a dull week on Wall Street. Let's go over some of the news that will shape the week to come.

Monday
The market is closed in observance of George Washington's birthday -- yes, that's how the New York Stock Exchange sees it -- but that doesn't mean companies are taking what most of us call Presidents Day off.

Atlas Pipeline Partners -- a high-yielding limited partnership that owns and operates a dozen active gas processing plants, 18 gas treating facilities, and more than 10,000 miles of active intrastate gas gathering pipeline -- reports on Monday, though it has its conference call slated for Tuesday morning when traders return.

Tuesday
Yandex is Russia's leading search engine. It's also the top dog in a couple of Eastern European markets. The company reports on Tuesday, and analysts see a healthy 39% increase in profitability.

Wednesday
InterDigital checks in on Wednesday. The developer of fundamental wireless technologies is occasionally played up for its patent-rich portfolio. However, despite establishing licenses and strategic relationships with many leading wireless companies, a buyout has yet to materialize.

Thursday
Frontier Communications
had better not phone it in on Thursday. The provider of telco services in rural markets is hungry for growth. Analysts see a profit of $0.07 a share -- flat with last year's showing -- on a 4% decline in revenue. Investors flock to Frontier for its chunky yield, but the payout won't be sustainable if Frontier's business keeps shrinking.

Friday
Friday is usually quiet on the earnings front, but that won't stop Gardner Denver from reporting. The maker of compressors, liquid ring pumps, and blowers told investors last month that its bottom-line performance will clock in at the high end of its initial guidance. That's a good sign heading into Friday's report.
