Taco Bell Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco Coming March 7

×
Taco Bell Cool RanchTaco Bell (YUM) has officially announced that its much-anticipated Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco will launch on March 7.

The Cool Ranch-flavored taco is a follow-up to Taco Bell's original Doritos Locos Taco, which proved to be runaway hit after it was launched in March 2012. That taco, which flavored a taco shell with the taste of a Nacho Cheese Doritos, was the most successful product launch in the fast-food chain's history, selling a whopping 100 million tacos in just 10 weeks.

The successor to that taco, featuring Dorito's popular Cool Ranch flavor, has been anticipated for months. While the company initially promised that the taco would be coming in 2012, it apparently decided to hold off and let the anticipation build. Last month, Taco Bell CEO Greg Creed told the hosts of "CBS This Morning" that the Cool Ranch taco would be "coming soon," Taco Bell Cool Ranchbut did not set a date. Today, we finally have that date -- exactly a year after the original Doritos Locos taco launched.

Taco Bell hailed on all frequencies to announce the launch date: It's being promoted on its official website and on Facebook, and it also made an announcement on Twitter with the hashtag #CoolRanchDLT and a Vine video of the new taco.

On Taco Bell's Facebook page, the image of the new taco went up at around 11:20 a.m., and had nearly 6,000 shares by noon.

We'll be sure to grab one on March 7 and let you know what we think.

I still don't understand why people eat beef products at Taco Bell. T/B admitted in an interview several years ago that they include cattle intestinal meat in their beef. OMG. My girlfriend worked for T/B at one time and she said the "beef" came into the restaurant each morning in bags and she noticed bone and other unidentifiable chunks of an unknown substance in it. She questioned her district manager about this and he told her the meat was "barely fit for human consumption." Eat at your own risk people.
