Pike Electric Crushes Earnings Estimates

Pike Electric (NYS: PIKE) reported earnings on Feb. 5. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.67. The six earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.25 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.67 for Q2 were 379% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.14 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 21.6%, 680 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 14.4%, 880 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 8.6%, 580 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $202.3 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.10.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $908.7 million. The average EPS estimate is $0.75.
The stock has a three-star rating (out of five) at Motley Fool CAPS, with 91 members out of 101 rating the stock outperform, and 10 members rating it underperform.
