Symantec (NAS: SYMC) is expected to report Q3 earnings on Jan. 23. Here's what Wall Street wants to see:

Last quarter, non-GAAP EPS came in at $0.45. GAAP EPS of $0.27 for Q2 were 13% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.24 per share.

For the preceding quarter, gross margin was 84.4%, 120 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 19.3%, 190 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 11.4%, 60 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.
The full year's average estimate for revenue is $6.84 billion. The average EPS estimate is $1.66.
The stock has a three-star rating (out of five) at Motley Fool CAPS, with 542 members out of 634 rating the stock outperform, and 92 members rating it underperform. Among 173 CAPS All-Star picks (recommendations by the highest-ranked CAPS members), 151 give Symantec a green thumbs-up, and 22 give it a red thumbs-down.
