I always do preventative service on my cars, oil change & filters every 2k miles, transmission & radiator fluids every other year along w/ belts & hoses. I have the car diagnosed once a year , usually just before winter, tires as I need them. I replace all bulbs in my brake & light system every other year , battery , the year before experation date. It never fails that the car will break down in the most unoppertune times & I drive many miles every year & have never been stuck, sure its probably more than I should pay but the comfort of knowing my car is in good shape & I really don't need to worry. I used to own 3 service stations & believe me , pay me now or pay me later, is a very true statement & the towing alone can cost you more than all of the repair bills in itself.

wiper blades .......six months is about all they're good for......and make sure you check your tire pressure more in the winter months to get better gas mileage along with cutting out wasted trips......winter is a good time to chill out!

Replace the blinker fluid every 6 months. It will keep the bulbs from corroding.......

Simple cleaning method for wipers.. Wipe down with nylon from wife's old pantyhose. Works like a charm

And these nut jobs think the average driver has a Battery Load Meter at home to check the battery? Or maybe a terminal puller and a spare set of insulators with a supply of Battery Terminal Sealer? If the wiper blades have had little use why would I replace them in six months when they may last two years? That is why you pay someone who is set up for this to do it right.

Because the sun plays hell with them and give little warning prior to disintegrating. Having said that I believe the blades on my 1990 F150 may be original equipment.

armour all cleans and keeps the rubber from cracking on wiper blades. I have had some sets that the metal gave way before the rubber.
