So when marketers say its what our kids REALLY want, that means we all need to have private conversations with all of our children in a secure environment, because apparently our kids aren't telling us the truth for some reason.

You'd have to be a two-year-old to want that little leap pad, but the silliest is recommending that scooter for an 18-year-old. Ain't no way any kid over 11 would want to ride that.

Who researches and writes this stuff? Most of it is a lot of plastic junk ... from China (no less). Chinese workers and officials must laugh when they see what they export to the U.S.

Clearly the 'research' is done by industry hacks, duly 'reported' by industry flacks, and is no more than a thinly veiled strategy to supplement child-focused advertizing by additionally propagandizing their parents.

Sadly (and having seen it for myself), Chinese workers have no feelings one way or the other. They are too busy cranking the stuff out to have any time to think about it.

What a load of undiluted equine waste.

Those toys are what Megatoy Amalgamated wants us to think our kids want, and what they have been spending billions on brainwashing them into that purported state these last several months.

For our four grandkids, 3 - 9, this year the toys they will get:
a) Require no throw-away batteries. Some wind up, some use transformers, some are assembly-toys, some are wooden. Some have on-board rechargeable batteries.
b) None are made in China. USA, Germany, England, Canada and France, as it happens.
c) None were purchased at a mall or from Kohlswalltargmart.
d) Many were purchased directly from artisans, from the manufacturer, or from individual-owned main-street shops.
