2012 Award Highlights Innovative Data-Only Femtocell Service in South Korea
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Mindspeed Technologies, Inc. The Mobile Excellence Awards (MEAs) honored industry leaders and rising stars at its annual gala, which took place on October 17, 2012 during a prestigious event in Marina Del Rey, CA at Digital Hollywood.
The 2012 award honored the data-only femtocell service from SK Telecom that was designed to offload mobile data traffic associated with the rapid growth of smartphones, tablets and mobile PCs. "SK Telecom will continue to make efforts to innovate people's lives by developing the most sophisticated network technologies and services."
Mindspeed is the only small cell SoC company that has demonstrated support for both HSPA and LTE in its small cell SoCs, and is the only one to have shown both frequency-division duplexing (FDD) LTE and time-division LTE (TD-LTE) solutions.
