One way to save big is to have a separate meter for watering the yard. This water does not get charged with the "sewer" charge that all other water does so your bill is lower. All other water in your house flows into the sewer and so it gets hit with water and sewer charges. If you have a separate meter for grass and car washing they know this water that is used there goes into the ground and so you are not consuming costly sewer processing so they don't make you pay that charge.....which costs more than the water itself......

Check your meter sometimes. I was take extended vacations. I was gone for two weeks. My electric and water bill were the same as the previous month when I was home. I checked another month that I was gone for about one week, came home and was gone another week. The bill was still the same as when I was home. I contacted the electric and water billing company. I never got a real answer, but they were certainly nice to me and gave me a few hundred dollars credit on my billing. It was never said, but from the conversations, I think someone was raking off the top. I don't know how, but I think someone put some money into their own pocket somehow.

I love how I get charged $10 for usage and $30 in fees every quarter. At some point, saving on usage becomes moot.

This was so stupid it's pathetic. I have been able to help my customers
save money in any house....I have a list of 20-25 items that truly save water consumption that my customers found essential. My email address is: Weichert3@aol.com for a complete list!
