Is It a 2-Horse Smartphone Race With Apple and Android?

Another day, another release of smartphone market share. Technology analysts Eric Bleeker and Andrew Tonner look at IDC's recent third0quarter smartphone market-share figures in the following video. With Android now at a dominant 75% share while iOS sits back at 15%, Eric and Andrew look at the difficulties facing a third player getting into the game right now.

Eric also discusses some of Android's key growth areas, such as emerging markets, and worries that Apple's conservatism in moving to carriers such as China Mobile could be a mistake. Android users aren't as loyal to their platform as iOS users, but Apple continues letting Android quickly consolidate a dominant market position at a carrier with more than 650 million subscribers.
