Apple iphoneBy Nicholas Carlson

Apple (AAPL), the world's most valuable company, is suddenly in a rut.

A new report says 75 percent of smartphones out there are Android phones, and only 15 percent are iPhones.

For the first time ever, iPhone customer loyalty is declining.

Scott Forstall was suddenly booted from the company last week. He was the creator of iOS, Apple's most prolific inventor, and a former "CEO-in-waiting."

The stock is cratering. It's down to $576 after peaking above $700 in mid-September.

Apple whiffed on iPad sales during its fiscal fourth quarter.

Recent "refresh" of all big products has left them looking at 6 to 9 months of dead time.

After hiring a new retail boss ~6 months ago, Tim Cook fired him last week.

I can tell you exactly what’s wrong with Apple – Snobbishness is what is wrong with Apple. Short history – back many years ago when there was Apple and a couple of other computers in the office, everything was fine and dandy, at the same time Apple showed up technology was entering the factory floor and engineers started asking about the Apple talking to the technology on the factory floor and Apple’s response basically was we don’t want our nice clean computers talking to that nasty old equipment. When Apple was ask about the architecture of their puters and they said hell no. If memory serves me right there were even a couple of outfits that developed a plug in device to talk to the factory floor and Apple sued them. Well, IBM architecture was open and along comes Bill Gates and Microsoft and they will even work with companies to have smooth transitions for operating systems. So, you’re XYZ Corp and you need puter system for the office and factory floor – do you go to Apple? Of course not. All Apple has now are the little doodads and Samsung is gnawing at that. By the way the same law suit that Apple won in the States they have and are losing in England and Europe. And the Judge in England made Apple apologize to Samsung and in all probably Apple will lose on appeal in the States. So, there you are my young Padawans

I recently gave up my HTC android in lieu of an I-phone 4S.........son and daughter in law talked me into this change, mainly so they could send me 50 pictures a day of my little grand daughter whom I naturally am crazy over.... however, ....... I have never seen anything that can eat a battery up quicker....... 22 more months and I can rid myself of this monster............ and back to the world of Android..........

DUH you think? Restrictive eula's that pretty much void you warentee if you use an "UnApproved App" like Java now for example. Planned obsolesence just like the Big Three did in the 60's and 70's look what happened to them. Apple is following a product plan that in short run will generate sales but long run will tank them New Ipads and Ipods every three months? Not a very green business. Minor Service upgrades to an existing OS that you need to buy the whole OS again instead of downloading just the servicepack? Wow I feel sorry for Apple users I really do... NOT they are just not smart enough to see they are being suckered. Cool sure Smart? Not so much.

Perhaps Apple should just go into something that was never thought of before. Perhaps they could invent a hand held device that lets us control a household robot so we may do things in our homes without being there, action from a distance. We'd see and hear what our distant robot sees and hears. The robot's hands, neck, arms, legs, etc would move to copy the movement of our hands, neck, arms, legs. We'd be in two places at once interactively. I bet that Japan will do this someday if we don't.

To bad you haven't paid attention to Windows we've had the option for a decade to remotely operate our homes if we wanted.

The problem is that nobody is like Steve Jobs. He did all the thinking for them, but he never taught them how to think because he so jealously guarded the process. Now he's gone, and everyone is screwed because all their secrets died with him. They don't know how to think for themselves. They'll wander around with no creativity because all of it was reserved to Jobs. In the end, they will die because of it. Their only hope is that someone like Jobs will come around and, unlike their master, will actually teach them how to think creatively. Until then, someone needs to start making tombstones.

You can only repackage the same phone so many times. What's the difference between each phone besides a new app here and there?

If something isn't broke then don't fix it. The Iphone 4 was fine until they came out with the Iphone 5 and had the gall to change the charging input. They did that to make MORE money. Greed in this country is out of control. Not just with Apple but with all companies. All CEO's want to do is line their pockets. Create items in the USA and put people back to work instead of lining your pockets. Maybe you just might make more money. You get more bees with honey!

When Apple ran Jobs out in the 1990's the company tanked, the company brought Jobs back around 1998 and he instantly began hustling up new marketing schemes... But, Apple without Jobs in the 1990's went from top dog to last place without him... and I expect the same thing will happen again... Steve Jobs was not a programmer or a electronic engineer.... He was a leader who knew what he wanted to do then he would go out and find the people to make what he wanted come to life... This Iphone was not invented by Apple... Apple went out and bought up the technology or the small companies who owned the technology to make it their own.. Steve Jobs is from the school of Commadore Vanderbilt and JD Rockefeller..

When Apple ran Jobs out in the 1990's, the company brought Jobs back around 1998 and he instantly began hustling up new marketing schemes... the first thing he was was to turn the offwhite plastic box that was the monitor into a see through colored plastic for designer purposes.. Then he came out with the all in one computer... Then the Ipod and all that Icrap.... But, Apple without Jobs in the 1990's went from top dog to last place without him... and I expect the same thing will happen again... Steve Jobs was not a programmer or a electronic engineer.... Apple is probably going to continue to tank back down to realistic values based on their earnings and less on the hype.
