5 Ways to Keep Hurricane Isaac From Blowing Your Gas Bill Higher

As Hurricane Isaac heads for the Gulf Coast, several oil refineries might have to temporarily shut their doors. This could, according to USA Today, drive up gas prices 10 cents a gallon or higher over the next few weeks.

With the nationwide average price already at $3.75 a gallon, thanks in part to oil refinery closures in Illinois and California, this bump caused by even more prolonged refinery closures could push drivers over the edge. To help save some hair pulling and checkbook rebalancing, we took a look back at our favorite -- and weirdest -- gas saving tips throughout the years.

No matter what we "TRY" to do the gas companies are going to bleed us dry---they will use ANY EXCUSE to raise prices....gotta keep the billionaires happy at our expense. Poor babies need another yacht!

Issac is not a storm as severe as some we have had. We should ride this one out with little price increase on fuel costs. If there is any price gouging, then the president can turn loose the strategic oil resrves, to get prices back down to earh again.

Wow you listen to the speakers at the (R) convention and they hardly mention Romney. But then again when I back a few months republicans didn't like Romney now they have no choice since he bought the candidacy. He's a Mormon moderate who passed/signed into state legislation a mandatory healthcare policy with an individual mandate. Remember many ranking republicans criticized him for it. He banned gunsassault weapons. He was for abortion before he flipped. He was against the government type bankruptcy which is much quicker than the standard court system He has Swiss bank accounts and off shore tax havens. What is so great about this guy? What has he done that's conservative? Oh and he went to France instead of enlisting for Vietnam. Patriotic? nope opportunistic? yup

Romney totally out of place at his convention. You can tell he's not a conservative republican. He's just a rich guy he could care less. That's why he never enlisted to go to the Vietnam War. pathetic

All of a sudden the Republicans are concerned about debt. Where was everybody during the Bush years. The Bush Tax Cuts... they cost money to provide. Remember TARP. Remember the auto and bank bailouts. Remember the very expensive wars. Remember the financial crisis. Remember the Bush stimulus. Remember MEDiCARE D a very expensive government program. Oh remember Paul Ryan passed all of these. You guys think he has all the answers and has always been financially conservative check his record. And Romney(care) giver me a break conservatives didn't like him until they had no choice but to support him. Romney signed into law the Massachusetts healthcare plan that has a individual mandate. Don't purchase health care insurance and you get fined/TAXed. Romney said himself his healthcare plan is the model for the nation. check it out.
