A trusted Verizon (VZ) employee has just confirmed to TechCrunch that the carrier is having an all-staff vacation blackout from the dates of Friday, September 21 to September 30. You know what that means, right?

The next iPhone, whether it's called the iPhone 5 or simply the new iPhone, will almost certainly be available in stores (with lines wrapping around the back of them) starting Friday, September 21.

I honestly don't know why there is a new iPhone every twenty minutes....who BUYS them? All of the people who whine about their debt and their circumstances and not having enough government assistance? But they can go spend $600 on a PHONE? Really?

i think apple products are well designed, easily able to use out of the box but agree with you that they better start making huge improvements or they will lose more and more market share.Just making a bigger screen or one new fancy voice system is no longer enough

Sounds like someone is a little cash-strapped to own an Apple product.
Don't take it out on the company.

If you can't afford Porsche .... don't go around saying they're crap .... they're far
from that. Same goes for Apple!

Here we go again with personal attacks from people who completely do not think before they dash off what they mistakenly perceive as the point of a comment. I sincerely wish that people online would treat others as they would in person. There is no difference. We do not know one another and you have no clue regarding my financial status, which by the way, was NOT the point of my comment. To reiterate: Apple has a fiduciary to shareholders to use their hefty cash reserves for true product development and innovation. That is the point. Whether or not I can afford an iPhone or a Porsche, is not the point...AT ALL.

My advice: DON'T BUY IT! This is getting a little ridiculous, Apple. I realize you're the largest company in the world, but these constant product "events" which really add very little to the evolution not only of the iPhone, but to smartphones in general, really smacks of a wanton greed and simply 'taking advantage' of the public's (particularly Apple die-hards) mindless urge to have the latest new thing. Use your huge cash reserves to bring us truly revolutionary products, not "NEW & IMPROVED" with little that is truly improved and nothing new.
