What big box store do you normally use?

Did you find our video on bathroom essentials helpful?

The cost of bathroom essentials can add up quickly, so knowing where to shop is key. Here, our experts head to three major retailers to find out which one offers the best bargain on bathroom basics.

First, a list of bathroom essentials was compiled. This included, towels, a bathmat, a shower curtain, a toothbrush, soap, toilet paper and more. The Savings Experiment team then went to Kmart, Target and Walmart to purchase the same items. The shopping list cost a total of $130.03 at Kmart, while the items were $118.35 at Target. However, Walmart came in as the clear money-saver. All of the items totaled just $84.64 there.

The items made for Walmart's private brand, Mainstays, offered the best deal, but if you're looking to splurge on quality, Target is the place for you. Its Room Essentials brand received high marks for colors and prints, and its towel line is made of thicker terry cloth fabric, which is softer, more absorbent and dries faster.

Bathroom accessoriesSo, when stocking up on bathroom essentials on a budget, head to Walmart for the best deals. If you're okay with spending a little more, shop Target for quality items. Your home and your wallet will thank you.

I use to live in a small town where Smith Corona had a long standing operation that employed about 2000 people. When they left to set up operations in Mexico where they could pay a worker 2$ for doing the same job they prevously paid 15-20$ an hour for, the town was left nearly destitute until, bash all you like, Walmart entered the community. It is the PUBLIC that demands lower prices, Walmart tries to answer the demand. I work in the pharmacy where our 4$ list of generic medications still isnt cheap enough. People still want to throw down discount cards and medicaid cards for a 4$ prescription. As employment goes in the community I work in, if it werent for Walmart I have no idea what people would do for employment without having to drive 30+ miles. Our industry in the US was driven out by our government, not by Walmart.

Considering you will need to replace the made in china cheap products from Walmart more often than competitors, in the long run you are spending considerably more for the products at Walmart...

All I ever hear is WalMart, WalMart WalMart, I will never shop there because of their made in China stuff. Guess what about all other retailers sell the same products made in China from retailers and Yes, Mom and Pop shops also. My normal shopping is done by the location of the store, why drive any distance to just save a couple dollars or just for a few items. I prefer the convience of the brand store I shop. Almost half the time I use the local grocer for it's convenience no matter the cost.

I buy most of my FOOD at Wal Mart, it's mostly made in the U.S., lol. However, when it comes to textiles... I refuse to buy ANY textile made in China. You are better off in the long run to buy more expensive, quality towels from Portugal, and Turkey(best). They may cost twice as much, but they will last 5 times longer, and you won't find them at any "big box" store. F*ck China.

Will NEVER under any circumstances spend a penny at this blood ******* anti-union organizations stores.Their corporate offices should consider relocating to a 3rd world country where dictatorships are welcomed. That is where they belong.
